LaJune Worlund Richardson

LaJune Worlund Richardson,101, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. She was born November 1, 1921, in Evergreen, Alabama to the late John Erastus Kelley and Mildred Mae Kelley. She was an Ensign in the Navy serving her country in World War II as a nurse.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Jack LeRoy Richardson, Sr. of Savannah, Georgia. She is survived by her son, Jack L. Richardson, Jr. and his wife Kathy of Foley, Alabama; daughter, Ramona Foshee & her husband Jimmy of Savannah, Georgia; three grandchildren, David Richardson and his wife Jennifer of Remlap, Alabama; Kimberly Foshee of St. Augustine, Florida and Tod Foshee & his wife Kaitlyn of Broadway, Virginia. She is also survived by 2 great grandchildren, Jessa, and Joshua Richardson, with another great grandchild due January 2024.

LaJune was a longtime resident of the Landings and an active member of the Skidaway Island Community Church. She was involved in many church and community activities, Bible studies, book clubs, and volunteering through the years.

She had lived in Alabama, California, New Jersey, Florida, and Georgia. She enjoyed traveling and traveled extensively to many countries. She loved music and Broadway shows.

June’s strong faith and love for her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ was evident in all aspects of her life. A gentle Southern lady with a sweet spirit, she never met a stranger and was dearly loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. 

 

The family would like to acknowledge Amedysis Hospice for their exceptional care to Miss June with special thanks to Michelle Barclay-Morgan and Chequita Green for their selfless dedication and loving kindness to her. 

There will be a memorial service Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Fox and Weeks, Hodgson Chapel at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Amedysis Hospice, 138 Canal Street, Suite 304 & 305, Pooler, Georgia 31322.
